Consent is a hot topic issue - and it should be. But if you were raised in a time where consent was not highlighted, how do you begin to shift your thoughts on consent from harmful to hopeful? This isn’t your first rodeo, but there is always space to learn because we know you’re trying, and we’re here to guide you.
In this 3 hour workshop, Sex Educators Rae Szereszewski & Marisa Swinton dive into consent. Focusing beyond what you learned in school because it’s most of the time, it’s not relatable or realistic. We’ll talk nuances, sexual assault, and different consent models. We’ll also talk about how to make consent sexy and not robotic or awkward.
STUDENTS WILL LEAVE…
Knowing how to distinguish between verbal and nonverbal consent
Considering how media influences our understanding of consent
With developing verbal skills to determine consent on an ongoing basis during a sexual encounter
Being able to define sexual assault and describe the legalities associated with it
